SUMMARY:Securing RAG Pipelines with Fine Grained Authorization
DESCRIPTION:Building enterprise-ready AI requires ensuring users can only a
ugment prompts with data they&#39\;re authorized to access. Relationship-b
ased access control (ReBAC) is particularly well-suited for fine-grained a
uthorization in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) because it makes deci
sions based on relationships between objects\, offering more precise contr
ol compared to traditional models like RBAC and ABAC. This talk covers how
ReBAC systems can safeguard sensitive data in RAG pipelines. We&#39\;ll s
tart with why Authorization is critical for RAG pipelines\, and how Google
Zanzibar achieves this with ReBAC. We&#39\;ll then illustrate how pre-fil
tering vector database queries with a list of authorized object IDs can im
prove efficiency &amp\; security. The talk will also include a demo implem
enting fine-grained authorization for RAG using Pinecone\, Langchain\, Ope
 nAI\, and SpiceDB.\nSpeakers: Sohan Maheshwar\nTrack: Security
